Fact: I know at least five queer women who would have begged for a character like Santana Lopez to be on TV back when they were still closeted / struggling with their identity. 
Also, having a very mainstream narrative where a female (teen) main character goes on record as saying, I’m a lesbian, not  ” um, you see, I’m a girl who loves / is really into another girl  * “, is still pretty much priceless. 


(* not that there’s anything wrong with that)
